Signs Your Marketing Company Is Underperforming

The unfortunate truth is that digital marketing companies are notorious for taking advantage of clients. They know that most people aren’t familiar with the complexities of digital advertising, and they leverage that fact to make higher profits without delivering any results to their clients.

There are several red flags that can indicate your digital marketing provider is not offering effective services:

No Results After Four Months

First and foremost, if four months have passed and you’re not getting a return on investment of at least 300%, then you should start looking for a new marketing provider. Whether you’re advertising through Google Ads, SEO or another medium, four months is plenty of time to establish a profitable marketing campaign.

Long-Term Contract Required

If a marketing provider knows what they’re doing, you should never have to commit to more than four months, and after that, the contract should be month to month. Whether or not you stay with that provider should be entirely dependent on the results they are producing for your law firm.

Misleading Reports

Another red flag is if the reports from the marketing company do not allow you to track how your performance has changed month to month. This is often done to mask the fact that you’re not getting any results or that your performance has actually declined.

For example, the report might show visits and calls from the previous month, but how have those key performance indicators changed over time? And what evidence has been shown to tie the KPIs to your marketing campaigns?
